Sarah Iannone Counselling BC

Registered Clinical Counsellor

Sarah Iannone (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC) with a Master of Counselling degree from City University.

An experienced clinical counsellor, working with non-profits, schools, outreach programs and online / virtual settings. Supporting adults, youth, and kids of all genders, orientations, and many life experiences.

Sarah Iannone works alongside and collaborates with families, parents, caregivers and supporters who resist the oppressions of the child welfare system and inspire community-based ways of connecting and caring. Sarah is committed to unlearning and understanding how colonization's historical and ongoing violence affects the people she works with and the systems we live and work within.

Sarah previously worked as a writer covering community and art-focused stories in New York. Here, she also used writing and creativity to connect with people (kids, youth, and older adults) in under-resourced spaces (shelters, after-school programs, assisted living). Sarah was a high-performance tennis player as a kid and a student-athlete as a young adult. Creativity informs and sustains her way of being, seeing and showing up as a support person/ human.

Sarah is non-judgemental, compassionate, and creative in her counselling approach. She understands that the support each person seeks is unique and personal. Sarah is always working towards providing Queer and gender-affirming care and applying anti-oppressive, harm reduction, strengths-based, and trauma-informed perspectives.
